Si Chuan Earthquake

I think many of you by now will know about the Si Chaun Earthquake in China that happened a few days ago. It’s a very sad case. So many people die. The worst part is many schools and hospital collapsed. So many kids were killed. Even those who survived are suffering.

I saw on the news, there was this young boy who needed to chop off both of his arms. He plead the doctor to save one of his arm so that he could continue to write and study. But its already too late for the doctor to save even one of his arm. I really think it is damn sad.

Anyway, QY show me this blog :

I don’t normally post anything on Chinese artists, but this is an exception.

Who those who haven’t watched the news, and haven’t read my sidebar, on May 12th, an 7.8 earthquake in China’s Sichuan province occurred. Currently the official death toll has reached 22,000, but officials are expecting it to reach 100,000.

Because this earthquake happened during the afternoon (around 2pm, I think) most of the kids were still in school. As a result of that, most victims of the earthquake are children (most of the buildings that collapsed were schools and hospitals).

As well as donating $500,000yuan, JJ Lin didn’t sleep for two days to compose/record this song “Love and hope” to help those affected by the 512 earthquake and to encourage people to help in anyway they can (I’m not sure if he’s going to sell the single, or perform this at a charity concert). Anyway, it’s such a moving song, and his voice gave me goosebumps.

Please pray for those affected by the earthquake, may God give those who still haven’t been found, the strength to stay alive, and comfort to the families who have lost a love one (news reports are saying that a whole generation has died in this earthquake).

And lastly, I leave you with this picture:

That’s what the rescuers found after they pulled away a slab of fallen concrete.

This is the JJ Lin Jin Jie’s new song for the earthquake. 愛與希望

Handphone number

Today I was at the MRT station when I lady suddenly approached me. She told me that she had forgotten to bring her handphone out and wanted to borrowed mine to make a call. My first thought was… is this a scam where she will take my phone and run? Being a kind hearted guy, I decided to trust her a bit and lend her my phone.

Lucky it wasn’t a scam. She just use my phone to call her husband than she returned me the phone. But suddenly I realised one thing. She tried to call her friend at first. But she remembered the wrong number for the first time. Then she tried another number which I think she failed to get through. Then finally she decided to call her husband.

I stop for a moment and ask myself. Do I remembered any of my friends number? Seriously I don’t. I don’t even remembered my dad and my mom’s handphone number. It’s all stored in the handphone what. Who will remember? So if one day I really lost my handphone on my way for any outing, I guess I will not be able to contact any of my friends. Because I really never memorize any of my friends number.

Last time during primary school I did remember a few good friends number. Because that time don’t have handphone mah. Then we just directly call their house one. Last time I can still remember lar. Now I forgotten all the numbers liao. What about you guys? Can you all remember any of your friends number? LOL. It’s frightening that technology has improved so much that we relied on handphone so much. Some people will even die without handphone for a day. LOL.
